SEM – What is it? Do I need it? Where can I get it?

SEM is an acronym that stands for Search Engine Marketing.  SEM is a service that improves the volume and/or quality of traffic to your website from search engines.  This service utilizes paid advertisements to position your company, products, and/or services in front of prospective customers as they utilize search engines, internet directories, or other relevant websites.

A fine tuned SEM campaign can attract tens, hundreds, thousands, or millions of unique visitors to your website every day.  Any well developed internet marketing strategy will have SEM as an integral part of that strategy.  Generating buzz about your business and driving traffic to your website via social networking, link exchange, and other such techniques can have a significant impact as well, but proper SEM is something that should be left to the professionals.
